There’s a small but noticeable uptick on the audio side too with Dolby Atmos soundtracks and music in terms of weight, spaciousness and cohesion to the soundstage. The blackest blacks are just a little bit blacker, and there's a little extra brightness and vibrancy at the other end. There's marginally more contrast on offer. In terms of performance, the differences are small.
There's also a new HDMI 2.1 socket, to add support for 4K HDR content in frame rates of up to 60fps, and compatibility with Apple's spatial audio via AirPods Pro and AirPods Max headphones too.

I, ironically, found an Insignia-branded one at Best Buy that worked better than all the rest. One partially did, but would drop video signal every minute.
I have tried three different ones from Amazon, and they wouldn’t even give me an output signal. The best solution in this case is an HDMI audio extractor that I can use to feed my DAC via TosLink.

I almost always feed my RME ADI-2 FS DAC via a USB adapter from my iPhone 11 Pro Max, but I would also like to feed it via my computer. It works absolutely perfect for having two spots to use my computer in. In my den, I have an HDMI cable running through the walls to my monitor and then I also have a wireless gaming mouse and keyboard. My listening den is located across the room from where my Gaming PC is connected to my big screen.
